Community engagement

Here at Rutland and Kings veterinary centre we regularly take part in events as we love getting involved with the local community and supporting where we can.

In the last year we have been fortunate enough to attend a number of events including the Rearsby Dog Show, Bisbrook Show, The Rutland Show,  Rutland Pet Festival, Blaston Show, Billsdon Dog Show and Priors Hall Summer Fun Day.

We are always happy to attend with a stall and we love being asked to judge dog shows!

Additionally we love getting involved with careers talks and going into schools to discuss all things veterinary, as well as taking on work experience where we have the capacity to do so.

Charity work

Across our branches we pride ourselves on working with a number of local and national charities. From raising money at local events and having collection tins at our practices, to providing discounted veterinary services for animals under their care, assisting charities is something we always strive to do.

Cats Protection

Cats Protection is a community of volunteers, employees, supporters and partners, dedicated to improving the lives of millions of cats.

We work with them to offer their neutering vouchers for families struggling with the cost of pet care as well as supporting their fosterers with discounted veterinary services for cats in their care.

Cats Protection

Prickleback urchin

Prickleback Urchin Hedgehog Rescue is a small home-based rescue in the county of Rutland founded by husband and wife team, Rachel and Jason in 2021. They rescue and rehabilitate sick and injured hedgehogs from the local area while also helping to promote and educate others on the plight of these unique creatures.

We work with them by providing discounted veterinary services for hedgehogs in their care as well as raising awareness and money for them at events we attend.

Neville’s Nest Guinea Pig Rescue care for unwanted guinea pigs, and rehabilitate them before finding them perfect new forever homes for them!

We work with them by providing discounted veterinary services such as neutering for pets in their care as well as raising awareness and money for them at events we attend.

Leicester Animal Rescue is a local rescue centre for cats and dogs aiming to give animals a long term permanent home that they can feel loved and secure in.

We work with them by providing discounted veterinary services such as vaccinations for pets in their care to ensure they are healthy and ready to go to new homes.
